Hello out there.
My name is Charles E. Quinn. I’m a writer with a couple of titles available now at Naked Reader E-books, and I work at a huge used book store mostly processing incoming items. I was born and grew up in Gastonia, North Carolina, (“Gastonia? Sounds like a stomach ailment,” Carl Sandberg.) If you have heard Jay Leno do that routine about the realtor in Gastonia who bought a hill/minor mountain to build houses on and was desperate to get the local authorities to rename it because it was officially called Booger Mountain… that’s where I grew up, at the foot of Booger Mountain in a neighborhood called Boogertown. I have the maps around here somewhere.
It dates me, but deceptively too far in the past, to point out that I was almost named Barnabas Beverley after a radio soap opera character–yes, radio, not TV–and that I was trained for a while in hot type newspaper compositing just a couple of years before it became extinct.
I have read probably all too much horror and dark fantasy, and I collect as many Arkham House and other small press horror items as I can afford, which isn’t much right now. I’m going to try to blog daily for a while, and I hope I get better at this. I erased the first copy, so here goes…
